Pushing wood up to the house with tractor. And of course he dug out and scared some of the lawn again this year. But we will be warm when it is somewhere below zero degrees this winter.Wednesday, October 29, 2008
Wood cutting for the year 2008
This is almost the end result of fire wood cutting this year. Dexter has one more load to add to this that he pushed up against the house with his little tractor. As I write this he is out there stacking the wood into the little lean to....

Deer camp October 16 -19 2008
I am just now posting our deer hunt experince for this year. We all had fun. Lonnie and his family were there as well as Trevell and his family. We did alot of road hunting which we all enjoy. I really enjoyed the scenery more than getting the BIG BUCK....We fed the last bottled deer meat from 2003 to the cats this morning. I wondered what we would do with the meat if we had got one. I would have probably bottled it and then fed it to the cats later on.....
We had a couple of great camp fires to sit around. And Krystin instigated a game of words to tell a storey....which ended up with a lot of laughs. Some wanted spooky stories. We did marshmellows and hot dogs... Oh what memories we all will have.
I am sorry to say that we had to break camp early Sunday morning. My right knee was beginning to give me such pain that I could not walk on it. It was horrible pain. None that I can remember ever having. Finally Monday morning I got in to see a doctor. After blood work, X-ray, ( to see if it was broken) Ultra sound late that night ( finding that I did not have a blood clot) I had to come back in Tuesday morning...Dr. Grose wanted to stick a needle in my knee to draw some fluid out to have tested. Well of course having the body that I do he stuck the first needle in to numb the knee. Ha Ha it of course was worse than going to the dentist. He said not to call him names. He put another needle in and couldn't get any fluid. Puzzled he then got a bigger needle. Still didn't work. He was really puzzled. He said he should go get a longer and larger needle, I just looked at him put my hand over my knee and said sorry. You had your chance. So after telling him that my Uric Acid was high on the blood tests he decided that I had Arthitic Gout. Anyway at this time of wrighting my knee is still sore. The calf muscles are hard as rocks, red in color and very sore. So instead of crutches that I used for two days I can now limp around or drag my leg. CAn't find my cane. Hmmmm ... Maybe I could dress up as Egor and drag my leg around. Hopefully by next week it will be better.
Today Dexter went up above Holden, UT to cut some fire wood for the winter. I just couldn't go with him . So ending on this note I will try and get the laundry done. Happy Fall!!!!

Road hunt for the elusive buck
What a view we had on our road hunt for the elusive big buck....I believe this is Ashly canyon coming up from Vernal Ut. If I am wrong someone please inform me. We felt like we were on top of the world.
Just beautiful, like Debbie said the pictures do no do it justice.

Ah, here is Trevell and Carien..Brody being held by his father Trevell and Addie standing infront of her mother Carien. What a wonderful time we had.

Uncle Lonnie holding crying Brody. Probably Brody had just been saved from walking off the cliff. Which he tried several times. He's quite the walk about. We just love him..

How to fall a tree without a chain saw.
Katelyn said this one looks good Kaylee agrees. So they push and push the tree sways back and forth...It might it might....We need help!!
Here comes Dad (Lonnie) and James. Lets get this bugger down. Lonnie says we used to do this all the time when we would go and cut wood with Mom and Dad. James is yelling you can do it.

Snowing
October 11, 2008
Just to let you all know that it is snowing..It has been off and on all day. We have had a skiff of snow, but it keeps melting off. Who knows what it will be in the morning. The last that I looked it was a whopping 42 degrees...Cold Cold Cold...but then again in the spring 42 degrees would be considered a warm up. Are we never satisfied? By next weekend it is said that we will be back up in the 70's won't that be nice....
I just read Debbie and Lonnie's Blog. It sounds like they have been having fun...Then they all got colds. First of the season for them. Hope they all get over them soon.
Teresa and Deena and there children will be headed out to Disney Land the 15th of this month. I know that they will have a blast. They will also visit Leggo Land and then off to spend the night with Merrily and Richard in San Diego, CA... They should be back to St. George, Ut Sunday the 19th.
I read Dusty and Darin's Blog also....Everyone is having fun...Dusty has been doing some canning this year as well. We are proud of her. Keep it up....it really is quite fun to do and very satisfying.
I have pressure canned 20 pints of chicken this year. I have never done it before, but rememberd that my Father had and it was good....Chicken was on sale. So why not?
Deena has been doing grape juice this weekend. Kudos' to her..It will be yummy all year long. She said that she was making green tomatoe jam...so if anyone is interested..give her a call for the recipe. It sounded good to me. And believe me I have a ton of green tomatoes. So maybe I might try it too.
I believe it is going to be a long cold winter...

Pot of Gold
Last Saturday, October 4 we went for a drive East of Cove Fort up in the moutains looking for something that we haven't seen before...It rained, it blew but over all it was a very nice day. I took this picture when we got home and the sun was going down...Just beautiful, the picture does not do it justice.
The rainbow was nice, we thought of trying to drive to the end of the rainbow to collect our pot of gold but figured it wouldn't be there even if we had tried. Ha Ha

First Snow Fall of the year
Well it is here..Our first snow of the year. It rained all day yesterday with the temperature never getting above 53 degrees. A big drop from the 90's. I guess we need to clear out our gardens, roll up our sprinkler hoses and hunker down for the winter.
